Magnati is one of the UAE's largest merchant payment networks, majority-acquired by Mashreq Bank in 2021 and licensed as a payment service provider under the UAE Central Bank framework derived from Federal Decree-Law 14/2018 on payment systems and electronic payment services. Spun out of First Abu Dhabi Bank's merchant business, Magnati processes card transactions for tens of thousands of UAE retailers, hotels, restaurants, clinics, and government counters. Its SmartPOS Android terminals are a fixture in malls from Yas to City Walk. Inside HIBR ERP, Magnati is wired in natively: every counter card swipe, every e-commerce checkout, and every Mashreq-cleared settlement file is matched line-by-line to your invoices automatically — so your accounting team stops re-keying batch totals at 8 a.m. and starts the day with a closed ledger.
What this integration does
- SmartPOS terminal binding to HIBR POS. Pair a Magnati SmartPOS Android terminal to a HIBR POS station in 60 seconds. Order total goes from HIBR to the terminal; once the customer taps, the approval code, masked PAN, and acquirer reference land back on the HIBR receipt instantly.
- E-commerce gateway on invoice pay-links. Send a HIBR invoice with a "Pay with card" button that opens Magnati's PCI-hosted checkout. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, and mada all supported.
- Mashreq settlement reconciliation. Magnati posts a daily settlement file (typically T+1 for Mashreq merchants, T+2 for others). HIBR ingests it via SFTP/API, matches each line to the originating invoice, and books the MDR fee as an expense.
- Refunds straight from the HIBR invoice. Click Refund inside HIBR ERP; the refund is dispatched to Magnati, a credit note is auto-created, the ledger is reversed, and VAT is adjusted under FTA rules.
- Multi-MID, multi-emirate routing. If you operate stores across Dubai and Abu Dhabi under different MIDs, HIBR routes each transaction to the correct Magnati MID and posts each settlement to the correct branch ledger.
- Tokenised recurring billing. For health clubs, schools, and SaaS-style retainers, HIBR drives the schedule, Magnati handles the saved-card vault and recurring authorisations.
Setup in 9 minutes
- Open HIBR ERP → Settings → Payments → Add gateway → Magnati. You'll need your Magnati MID, terminal ID(s), and API credentials, which Magnati issues in your merchant dashboard at onboarding.
- Paste credentials and select your AED deposit account. This is the HIBR ledger account that mirrors the bank account Magnati settles to.
- Pair each SmartPOS terminal. Scan the QR code from the HIBR POS station; the SmartPOS app handshakes with the HIBR cloud. Repeat for each terminal across each store.
- Run a 1 AED test charge and refund. HIBR verifies authorisation, capture, refund, and webhook receipt end-to-end. Roughly 90 seconds.
- Map the MDR expense account. Choose where Magnati processing fees post (default: "Card processing fees"), and decide whether to split fees by store, channel, or product.
- Enable Magnati on the channels you want. Counter POS, invoice pay-links, online store, recurring billing. Save.

Frequently asked questions
Can Magnati and another gateway both be live on the same HIBR account?
Yes. Many UAE merchants run Magnati at the till and a second gateway like Telr or Network International online. HIBR routes each channel to the right MID, reconciles each settlement file separately, and books each MDR to its own expense line.
What happens if my SmartPOS terminal loses connectivity?
The Magnati SmartPOS app supports offline mode; transactions queue locally and replay when the connection returns. HIBR ERP marks each invoice as "Pending acquirer confirmation" until Magnati confirms, then auto-flips to Paid. Reconciliation handles the gap cleanly.
Does this integration satisfy UAE FTA e-invoicing requirements?
Magnati is the acquirer; FTA e-invoicing compliance lives in HIBR. HIBR generates Phase-1 PEPPOL PINT-AE e-invoices (mandate effective July 2026 for B2G) regardless of which acquirer captures the card. The Magnati reference is logged on the invoice as payment evidence.
