Do I need a specific Microsoft 365 plan to use this integration?

Any Microsoft 365 Business or Enterprise plan that includes Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Outlook/Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams is supported. That covers Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, and the full E3/E5 line. Personal and Microsoft 365 Family plans are not supported.

Will HIBR move documents out of SharePoint into its own storage?

No. HIBR ERP references your existing SharePoint document libraries by URL; files stay in SharePoint under your tenant's permissions, residency, and retention policy. HIBR adds context (which invoice, which customer, which engagement) without duplicating the file.

How does the SSO handle UAE data residency requirements?

Microsoft's UAE data residency option (Microsoft Cloud for the United Arab Emirates) is supported. If your tenant is provisioned in the UAE North Azure region, the Entra ID identity flow stays inside the UAE region. HIBR honours the tenant's regional configuration; no data leaves the region except where you explicitly opt in to international services.

Single sign-on via Microsoft Entra ID (OIDC + SAML). Staff log in to HIBR with their corporate Microsoft 365 account. No separate password, full MFA inheritance, role-based access from Entra groups.
Outlook calendar two-way sync. HIBR-created appointments (client engagements, sales calls, delivery slots, leave) appear on the assigned staff member's Outlook calendar. Conflicts and reschedules sync back to HIBR.
SharePoint document storage. Customer engagement folders, supplier contracts, and signed quotes live in your SharePoint Online libraries — HIBR references them by Graph URL with proper permissions, no duplication.
Teams notifications and approvals. Purchase order approvals, expense claims, large-discount sign-offs, and overdue-invoice alerts post into the relevant Teams channel or DM. Approve in one click without leaving Teams.
Outlook email tracking. Inbound and outbound emails to/from a known HIBR customer or supplier are auto-logged on that contact's record via the Microsoft Graph mailbox subscription.
Excel-out and Word-out. Any HIBR report or invoice can be exported to Excel or Word with formatting preserved, deposited into a configured SharePoint location for downstream workflows.

Setup in 12 minutes

Open HIBR ERP → Settings → Identity & SSO → Add provider → Microsoft Entra ID. Click "Connect Microsoft 365 Tenant".
Admin-consent the HIBR Enterprise app in Entra ID. A global admin clicks through the consent screen granting the read/write scopes HIBR needs: User.Read, Calendars.ReadWrite, Files.ReadWrite, Mail.Read, Group.Read.All, Team.ReadBasic.All.
Map Entra groups to HIBR roles. Decide which Entra security groups map to HIBR roles (Admin, Finance, Sales, Operations, Read-only). Group membership changes auto-propagate.
Pick SharePoint library for document storage. Choose the SharePoint site and library where HIBR will create per-customer and per-engagement folders. Existing folders are honoured.
Bind a Teams channel for notifications. Default: "HIBR-Alerts" channel in your General team. Override per workflow (Finance approvals → Finance team, Sales discounts → Sales team).
Run a test sign-in and calendar push. Sign in via Microsoft, create a test appointment in HIBR, confirm it appears in Outlook within 30 seconds. Done.

Frequently asked questions

Can HIBR work alongside a separate Google Workspace tenant in the same company?

Yes. Some UAE companies run Microsoft 365 for back-office and Google Workspace for a specific department or subsidiary. HIBR supports both identity providers simultaneously; users authenticate through whichever provider their account is associated with.

What happens to my HIBR sessions if a user is offboarded in Entra ID?

HIBR honours Entra ID's session-revocation events in real time. When a user is disabled or removed in Entra, their active HIBR session is terminated within seconds and their role access is revoked. Standard offboarding workflow continues to work end-to-end through Microsoft 365.

Does Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps see HIBR as a sanctioned app?

Yes. The HIBR ERP Enterprise app is published in the Entra app gallery (and via certified Microsoft 365 connectors). Defender for Cloud Apps recognises it as a sanctioned app and applies your configured DLP and conditional-access policies.
