PDPL redaction layer — what AI sees, what it doesn't

Every AI feature that sends data to an LLM inference provider (Anthropic, OpenAI fallback) passes through HIBR's redaction layer first. The redaction layer automatically replaces sensitive identifiers with placeholders before transmission:

The LLM provider sees the placeholders, not the raw identifiers. The response is post-processed locally inside HIBR's perimeter to restore the original identifiers. The LLM never has the data it would need to identify your specific customers or transactions.

This is Federal Decree-Law 45/2021 (PDPL) Article 22 cross-border-transfer compliance done correctly. See data residency page for the full mechanism.

Opt-out — running HIBR without any AI

Some businesses prefer to keep all data inside HIBR's perimeter with zero LLM exposure. You can disable AI entirely:

  1. Go to Settings → AI Features
  2. Toggle "Disable all AI features"
  3. Confirm — this disables C1 through C10 across the product

What you lose: the productivity benefit of AI assistance. What you keep: the full HIBR product without AI. Subscription pricing doesn't change — you're not paying for AI usage you don't use, but the tier features still apply.

Recommended middle ground: keep AI Categorizer + Receipt OCR + Audit Pack Generator enabled (low-sensitivity workflows) while disabling the Tax Co-pilot + WhatsApp Agent (higher-sensitivity workflows). You get most of the productivity benefit without the higher-exposure AI workflows. Granular per-feature toggle is on Pro + Enterprise tiers.

Usage tracking + cost transparency

Even on unlimited tiers, HIBR tracks AI usage internally so you can see consumption patterns:

HIBR doesn't bill per-query — your subscription is flat. The dashboard is purely informational so you understand how AI is being used.
